We all love Mother's Day. It's a day where if you're a mum you (hopefully) get the chance to pop your feet up and let your children / partner SPOIL you! It's also a great chance to say thank you to your own mum (or remember her in my case) and mum-in-law for everything they've done for you.
My own daughter gets extremely upset if she's not given the chance to make me breakfast in bed. It's so cute and I love it. She's six now so they're getting slightly tastier too, haha.
Here's our top 5 list of things to do this Mother's Day. Be sure to pass it on :)
1. Mother's Day Quiz
Get the kids to fill in this quiz for you or tell you their answers. These tend to be adorable and something you can hang on to for years.
2. Family Coat of Arms
Buy a canvas frame and get the kids to design and paint or colour your family coat of arms. This is a really fun idea to test their creativity and get them thinking about what it means to be a member of your family. The little guys will need some help, but I'm sure they've got some great ideas.
3. Fill a hamper with Mum's favourite things
Do your kids have Mother's Day stalls at their kindy or school? I always find it so sweet to see what my daughter has picked out for me. Last year I received herbal tea (to help me relax) and white chocolate (because she knows I love it).
A really fun thing to do is to send the kids to the supermarket or department store with daddy or their grandparents and give them a budget to work towards (this is a bit easier if they're older!). Then they can fill a small box with things that they think you will love and explain why they picked them for you. They could do this for grandma too!
4. Make some DIY flowers
These flowers are really sweet and great fun for the kids to make. They could also make a vase out of an used glass jar (washed) and some paint. This is an example we did in the 8-10's project last month (doesn't need to be perfect, as you can see!).
5. Tiny masseuse
There's nothing like a bit of pampering on Mother's Day! Sure we'd all love to go to a spa but it's also really fun to give the kids a ten minute slot to massage your neck and back. You could teach them some techniques before hand if they're not already qualified!
We love:
The waterfall - long strokes down the back
The hammer - little fists getting into those sore knots
The quack quack - duck hands squeezing into the shoulder muscles
It's raining - finger tips tapping on your head
Chop chop - straight hands chop chopping on the top of your shoulders
Enjoy :)
(Ok, we know this pic is slightly around the wrong way - but it's pretty cute!!)
Wishing all our foxy mummies a fantastic Mother's Day xx
